| The City of Sydney Law
Society is a regional society of the Law Society of New South Wales, the
organisation representing solicitors in New South Wales, Australia. It
is an incorporated society under the Incorporated Associations Act of
New South Wales. |
 |
|
| The members of the CSLS
are predominantly solicitors practicing in the central business district

We provide our members
with opportunities to meet regularly to discuss issues of importance to
them. We undertake mandatory continuing legal education courses, mostly
by way of seminars many of which are free to our members. We hold a number of social
functions each year. We organise the annual Law Week breakfast
marking the beginning of Law Week. We provide opportunities for
the bench and the bar to meet members. We represent our members to
the Law Society of New South Wales, the lawyer's professional indemnity
insurer, LawCover and, where appropriate to government and to the
public. We support wherever possible the aims and the activities of the
Law Society of New South Wales. Membership
is voluntary. Our membership fees are very reasonable and members are
entitled to attend seminars at a discount and, often, at no cost.
|
|
| Our members come from large firms and small, from the
universities, barristers and government and corporate offices. |
